At the Jane Boyd Achievement Academy, children can find support to reach their goals, including caring friends and adults, a safe environment, homework help, healthy foods, and fun activities. In 2017, more than 200 children participated in the Jane Boyd Achievement Academy. The programming is accredited through the Council on Accreditation.
The summer and out-of-school programs include a variety of activities including:
Children use a computer-based activity that is proven to improve reading and comprehension skills.
Through hands-on experiments, children will grow in their understanding of the natural and man-made worlds.
Social and Recreational Activities
Group games utilizing the outdoor playground can teach children about exercise, sportsmanship and teamwork.
From Scouting to Theatre Cedar Rapids and Blue Zone Curriculum, the Achievement Academy partners with multiple community organizations to enhance children’s experiences in the program.
Field trips to local museums, the pool and more can provide educational, and fun, experiences for youth.
The cost of the Academy varies based on location and each family’s situation. We work to make the program affordable for families of all income levels.
