The Jane Boyd Community House, 943 14th Ave. SE in Cedar Rapids, houses a variety of classrooms, a dance studio, gymnasium and other facilities for year-round Jane Boyd programming. Parts of the facility are also available to the public, including a gymnasium, dance studio and community social room.
The current facility is the program's fourth since Boyd's work began in the 1920s. In 1928, the house at the time was named the Jane Boyd Community House in honor of Boyd. The current facility, built in the 1960s, continues under the name. See more about the community houses' history here.
Over the years, the Jane Boyd Community House services have changed to meet the needs of the local community by adding services and outreach. Today, Achievement Academy programming is held at the Community House weekdays throughout the year. Sports activities are also often held by Jane Boyd's community partners.
